Are you accepting new clients?
Yes!
If I have an evaluation from early intervention or another clinic, do you need to do another one?
Nope! As long as the evaluation is recent - within the last year - we can go off of that evaluation. We can also do an evaluation if you want us to dig deeper or get a second opinion.
Do you take insurance?
At this time, Speech at Play is a private-pay clinic and does not bill insurance. We are considered out-of-network with all insurance providers, but we are able to provide a Super Bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement of treatment services.
(*Speech at Play can not guarantee that services will be reimbursed by your insurance company and is not liable. We will provide you with an invoice for therapy that can be submitted to your insurance.)
Where do speech therapy sessions take place?
Sessions will take place virtually in the child's natural environment. Sessions are conveniently provided in your home via teletherapy to support the comfort and flexibility of busy children and families. Read more about the evidence behind speech therapy via telehealth below.
If I qualify for therapy, how long does treatment typically last?
The length of a single session and the duration of treatment (how many months) is determined by needs identified at the evaluation and subsequent treatment plan. Treatment sessions are typically 30-45 minutes, 1-3x/week depending on your child's needs. Duration of treatment depends on the number of goals and areas of need identified. Evaluations will be given periodically to determine growth and continued need of services.
Can my child benefit from both private speech therapy and school services?
Absolutely! Many children participate in therapy at Speech at Play in addition to school services. Speech at Play also treats many children who would benefit from speech services but may not qualify due to the strict criteria needed to qualify for public school-based services.
